Crone Original Painting

Ode to the crone. Who’s skin is tethered and worn like the bark of the most ancient tree. Her accomplishments long buried by the dusts that have collected over the memories of mankind. Youth long past, as the sun sets on her life. But think not of the crone as twisted and broken. Do not allow her name burn on your tongue as an insult. Embrace her. Know that her kindness comes from not a place of necessity, but from a wisdom that long precedes you or I. Her eye holds a gleam that is a peek into lost time. Her presence is not a reminder of the setting sun, but of the beautiful sunrise that we were not fortunate enough to witness ourselves.

Created with love using highly pigmented, lightfast watercolor paints, watercolor pencils, and graphite, with archival ink highlights. On a piece of hand cut, acid free, watercolor paper. Finished with a matte spray sealant to ensure protection and prevent smudging.
Standing at 10” tall and 8” wide.
